Sorry, I don't - it used to have them though: heard from the original
owner that the frameset *had* those parts when he got hold of it. It's
more of a question of how *new* it could have been with Shimano 600!

Shimano "600" morphed into "600 Ultegra" in the 1988-1990 timeframe.
"600 Ultegra" turned into "Ultegra" in 1995-ish, I think. Without
knowing more features of the components (index shifters, STI,
dual-pivot brakes) it's tough to make a better guess.

Note that for a 1990 french bike, you might see 1989 parts on the
bike. It was certainly this way in the 1970's, i'm not sure when it
was that just-in-time manufacturing and assembly arrived in the bike
business.

If you've tried all the peugeot catalogue web sites (you _have_ tried
the many "Peugeot PX-10" catalogue web sites haven't you ?? Including
www.bulgier.net ??) Then try this :

Open an ebay account, and set up a stand-alone search "653 peugeot"
and "search titles and descriptions" and "email me whenever there
are new results" over "the next 12 months".

When another bike of that type shows up on ebay, you can either read
the auction listing or email the owner to learn the date of manufacture.

Thanks for the info'. I discovered that, originally, it had centre pull
brakes. It was also a 7 speed. Starting to sound 1989ish?

Hi

That's an amazing link you sent! I might be wrong but I thought that
PX10 couldn't have a 653 frame because it didn't exist during that
model's lifetime. Also, bulgier.net was a bit short on Peugeots.

I'm doing the ebay idea already so hopefully it will bear fruit!

Centerpull brakes had just about disappeared by the late '80's. I doubt
they came on that frame originally. 7-speed would be correct for 1989.
