Shimano R151 Road Shoe and SPD

I just purchased the Shimano R151 road shoe only to find out that it
is not SPD compatible. Before I take them back I noticed that on the
Nashbar site it says these are "SPD-SL design that is Look® compatible
and SPD-R and SPD adaptable". Does anyone know what "SPD adaptable"
means?

Thanks,
Tom

The Shimano site says the R151 is SPD and SPD-R compatible:

With a question mark after SPD and SPD-R, whatever that means. The
picture on this web site clearly shows the three holes on the bottom
of the shoe which are too far apart for an SPD cleat.

I looked on several sites which, unlike Shimano, stated that the shoes
wereSPD-R and SPD "ADAPTABLE", requiring the use of an apaptor, SM-SH85,
which I could not find anywhere.
Good luck in finding one.
