I am looking into buying shoes for the first time and I have no idea how the sizes work. On my regular shoes I am a men's 13 US and euro 42 and 2/3. However when I went to this site: nashbar.comsizesearch.cfmOpen ↗ and the scale indicates that I am a 48. So, I have no idea which size my size shoes I should get, if someone could help me and with my sizing I would be much appreciative.

Where did you get the 42 and 2/3? I'm a little under a US 12, and find a Euro 46 fits perfectly. The Nashbar sizing guide is pretty accurate.

You are off on something.I'm a 9.5 us and 43.5-44 euro. besides that, sizes are almst meaningless due to variation among manufacturers and country of origin. I don't buy anything without trying it on any more.

I agree with Boudreaux. I´m a 11.5 US and 45 European. Cycling shoes I use for example size 47 Sidi, Size 46 Speciallized and even a size 48 Shimano (winterboot) another 46 Shimano and a 47 Shimano.... Total confusion in sizings only way to go is to try before you buy.
