I'm planing a trip to Europe end of September 2004. Going to Macedonia to visit my parents, but would like to use the opportunity and stay in Italy (at no extra $ in flight, switching planes in Rome) for about 4-5 days. By my self cycling somewhere close to Rome (radius 100km) along the cost line. Anybody with experience of the area? I'm originally from southern Ontario, Canada and it's flat here. Any mountains around Rome or I need to consider some other flight route for that? Anybody with advice about accommodations, food, car rental, etc.. I'm on a very limited budget (700-900 Euros for 4-5 days). Is it possible?
