Simple Comparison Of Campy Record To Super Record?

You would think this is one of the easiest things to find on the 'net, but apparently my Google-Fu is weak, 'cuz I'm coming up empty:

Is there a simple, feature-for-feature comparison of the differences between Campagnolo's Record versus Super Record groupsets?

I can sort of extrapolate it by reading through the Campy website (and keeping a couple different tabs open in my browser) but I was hoping to find a basic, unequivocal, side-by-side list ...e.g.,
- Brakes:
Record - made from forged Unobtanium
Super Record - made from forged Unobtanium cold-pressed between the breasts of 16-year-old virgins

Or something like that. I'm indifferent to the weight differences (or rather, indifferent to the weight differences when listed without an explanation for how those differences were accomplished) and I'm not interested in the cost differences because hey, my Google-Fu isn't that weak, I know what this stuff sells for.

Just want to know the mechanical/structural/compositional differences.

A tip o' the hat to anyone who can point me towards a comprehensive list of differences. Thanks.

Well ...

With the understanding that beyond the cosmetics & some Titanium bits, I cannot tell the difference between Record & Chorus ... or, Chorus & slightly older, "Ultra Shift" Athena/(et cetera) ...

So, I would not expect a meaningful difference between Super Record & Record components.

Let me suggest that you contact BRANFORD BIKE (http://branfordbike.com/) since they have the replacement components.

In other words, if you are looking for a mechanical difference (e.g., Super Record shifting better than any other 11-speed Campagnolo shifter/drivetrain) then I doubt you will be able to find one.

FWIW/IMO. If you want to enhance the shifting of your (current?) 11-speed Campagnolo equipped bike, then you may-or-may-not get even smoother shifting if you fit your bike with an 11-speed Shimano-compatible wheel + 11-speed Shimano Cassette & an asymmetrical Shimano chain.

You have distilled the differences almost perfectly!

Zuper Record is really made of Unobtanium forged in the fires of Hades. The Unobtanium is alloyed with Eddy Merckx's hair pomade and quenched in Lance Armstrong's EPO fueled sweat as it was caught before hitting the road as he climbed Sestriere! Polished only with locks of hair cut from Sophia Loren's virgin head and then blessed by storing it in Tullio Campagnolo's cold, dead hands for 24 hours.

Only then, can the Zuper Record decals be applied.

It is also a well known fact that no dentist or proctologist ever won the Tuesday World Championship Crit on plain Jane Record.

I know the crankset gets the El Explodo Ti bolt in left hand thread...just so you don't accidentally substitute a R.H. thread steel bolt that just might actually hold your Hirth joint together for more than two months.

S.R. gets the full compliment of Ti hardware throughout. Also, a few strategically placed slots and holes. All this is good enough to subtract enough weight from the bike to enable the average Fred to shave 12 seconds off his best hilly Century time.

It's also good enough to shave a few more Benjamin's from your wallet and lighten your bank account twice the weight removed from the bike.

I don't even know who you are anymore! I want a divorce!

Nothing on this planet or in any parallel universe shifts as magically as Campagnolo 11-speed mechanical! It feels as if God, Himself, is moving the chain from gear to gear with his Blessed hands! The same hands, BTW, the handed our Prophet...John Moses Browning, peace be upon Him...the very first 1911pistol.

If the new Campy Super record is pressed by the breasts of 16 year old virgins then that's the one you want.

Seriously, with Super Record you're paying for titanium bits that don't account for much, and I think the Super Record uses bearings instead of bushings in the lower pulley, and I think they use ceramic bearings in the cranks but again in the real world this has been proven to be a non issue. In the end you would save 40 grams of weight and spend $14.20 per gram to obtain that weight savings...a huge rip off, it's been said in the cycling circles for many years that you're being ripped off if you spend more than $1.00 a gram; you would never feel 40 grams of weight except in your mind. Even among the pros that race Campy they use Record and not Super Record except for one, and these are people who get their stuff for free.

Not only do you get the C.U.L.T. bearings and get an embossed membership card to the Campy Cult, you get those awesome extra Ti. cassette gears that wear out even faster than the steel gears! You save mo' grams! You spend mo' money!

It is often said that the best Campy 'gruppo' (Remember kids...gruppo is Eyetalyun! Only a Campy component set is a gruppo. shitmaNO is a Group-San and SRAM is a Bro-Set.) is a mix of something like Chorus brake calipers, a Record crankset, a Super Record rear derailleur, a Chorus front derailleur, Record pedals, Record shifters, a Chorus cassette and chain, etc.

All campy is damned good stuff. The more you spend does get you slightly better pieces and parts, less weight and 'maybe' some slightly better and almost unmeasurable performance.

It is like the difference between a Black (Centurion) and Platinum AMEX card to those with SNAP cards in their pocket.

Only the inner circle has the chart.....

More carbon, titanium, ceramic bearings, etc.

According the the Campagnolo US and English websites it's a Groupset. The Italian website is Gruppi, not Grope-o which is what Paulo does to those 16 year old girls in Italy after a few bottles of vino (not the Vino managing the World Tour team that rode half a Campagnolo groupset to victory in the Tour last year missing vital components like hubs and cranks)

Campagnolo stopped being mythical when it really stopped being even just a little bit inventive back in the early 80's.

So now you have to count teeth for the bottom bracket too huh? :D

So you got a 12T Crank spider which will be "upgraded" to 13T next year (Why? What do you mean why? Because it's... faster! Go and buy it now before someone sees you.)

Or you wanna wait until they change the cups for Over Size Bottom Bracket II ( the extra slippy version with balls made of Satanium, which dont fit to the medium slippy one which accepts the torque-ier crank).

This is f@ckin sh^t... Thousands of companies making bicycles. Only 3 f@ckin companies making transmission parts...

Meanwhile...on morning break at the Vicenza Steel Mill, Luigi downs a bottle of vino before returning to the heat treat furnace...

The owner of the shattered Ultra Torque-Power Torque-Over Torque crankset just discovered the meaning on the word "torque". He joined...The CULT!

Dem Ballz... <_< (Which disintegrate on anything else then Original Super Campy "A.N.A.L." grease. (Not that you can grease them anyway).

But if you want to grease your wheels, insiders say that you can make A.N.A.L. grease by putting leftover Dog-food and Purple food coloring in the blender.

Gra(s)hite grease...

There are also some rumors that the next "Ballz Miracle" will be hexagonal bearings made from diamonds rolling in organic Dijon Mustard.

They will also only fit in ShamagnaRam's new frames which have the appropriate diamond-cut proof washers inside the frame.

The diamond-cut-proof washers are made from Shitium and they have a lifespan of about 2000 years in Space (about 3 months of training on Earth). But you wouldn't want to cut that frame's bottom bracket with diamond bearings now would you?

What now you wanna do Cyclocross too? That's fantastic!

The new CampamanoRam has various solutions. From the "BuyALot", upgraded with butted axles in wrong place, to the "StandardDopingGear" one, which has only the most expensive parts badly designed.

Here! Now you can find replacement screws too! (Which only work with the company's tools. The company's tools are made from cardboard and recycled glitter make-up).

I could go on... :D

4:00 - Song 4. Metal shouldn't be that cute.

Some people need to learn how to play guitar, kami-san guitar God isn't one of those. Kirk Hammet, you can leave this lesson at 3:00, you have no chance...

Heathens. See what happens when you ride cranks made from molded licorice - it melts the brain - even Astana with their doping program won't touch 'em. Too much noxious miasma! Stick with aluminium a la Shimano and Cannondale.

Suuure they are... Until they get replaced from the "New babymetal" girls as soon as these ones go to college or something... (Is there a single one of them that has participated in more than one song? :D )

I think I posted 2007's Tiagra, or 2008's Sora assembly. :D

Nothing-classic-from-Japan. :p

Babymetal formed when the oldest (the singer) graduated from the talent school sponsored by a record company. She couldn't perform with the schools band but the record company created Babymetal to keep the three girls together and was the brainchild of a producer their who was also a complete 80's metal head.

Sometimes you don't need all the girls:

But sometimes it just works better. Gimmee Chocolate!

87% of all the world's weirdness comes from Japan.

And most of that is from the fallout of shitmaNO ****.
