Before you all pile in with the insults, hear me out...
My nephew is 11, and will be getting a new bike shortly, and as the
Uncle-who-knows-a-bit-about-bikes, I have been asked to help choose one. I haven't spoken to my
nephew yet, but I get the impression that he doesn't want an MTB as such, but that he is in to jumps
and tricks, etc...
I know you'd probably all say that he should get a decent MTB and be done with it, but at that age,
if he doesn't have the "right" bike, then he's not going to ride it, and that's the important thing.
So, an recommendations for a small, possibly 24" wheel jump-style bike? His parents aren't on a
tight budget as such, but probably wouldn't want to pay thousands, as he's going to grow out of it
eventually. I've looked at a few Kona and Specialized kids models, and they may do the trick, but am
keen to find out if there are any other options.
Oh, and yes I will take him to a LBS and get him to try some. Anyone know of any good ones in either
Buckinghamshire or Monmouthshire/Cardiff? That's in the UK BTW :-)
Thanks
