In Wilkinsons right now they are selling their own brand rear lights
for £2.99, which are absolutely identical to the Smart "kidney" light
with 3 LEDs. See

I always ride with two rear lights, one on me, one on the bike.

I do this also, flash as a distraction, steady so that drivers can vid
where you are.
Don't forget to mount them vertically (one above the other).

I got some last year when they reduced them to £1.50 each!!!

I've had a rear light fall off once, when the bracket broke. I didn't
hear it fall and so didn't notice until I got home. I was using two
lights, fortunately, for visibility reasons, but now I always recommend
having two just in case one fails in some way en route.
