I do not know myself, but I do know that the SOMEC Company is well
alive and in business at Lugo di Romaagna. They even have e-mail
connection and use it.
I would advise you ask them directly.

Hello, Somec store is located 20 miles from my house and still does
great business. They have been in business since the early '70s

They are not very loved by other bike shops as apparently they must
have some "special source" of parts and they managed to keep prices
insanely low in the last 5-10 years, and that apparently put several
other bike shops out of business.

They have been sponsoring several amateur teams until a couple of
years ago.

Original owner is still there, so somebody will certainly remember
your frame.

Up until the late 90s they used to outsource their (steel + alu)
frames to a local framebuilder called Dalfiume, who is now building
frames with his own name (I've got one Dalfiume). But now Somec does
like most companies, they buy alu frames from Asia, and carbon fiber
frames from either Dedacciai or Columbus and they have other companies
assemble the tubings (and paint them) locally. Then they assemble the
whole bicycles in their facilities.

There is no "Mr. Somec." Somec stands for SOcieta MECHanica. It's
akin to Independent Fabications in the US.

Yeah, I was kidding. Or actually making fun of a catalog I saw once
that spouted baloney about Mr. Somec etc etc. Won't name the vendor
as I think it's changed ownership since that nonsense.
