Hiya folks,
Thought I would start the ball rolling more...
Next Sunday, Nancy Young, Alan, and I will be doing a soup cookalong.
Not sure what time yet. We have yet to settle on a time.
We hang out in the chat channel, and chat between cooking whatever it
is we are going to cook. We usually pick a dish that we want to try,
or in this case, some sort of soup.
We have had loads of fun doing this in the past. Past projects
include Panzanella (BIG sucess), "stone" soup, and I think the last
one was a chicken stew of some type (I did Coq Au Vin). I know we
have done others, but these are the ones I remember off the top of my
head.
Since a lot of us have digital cameras now, we have been taking photos
of our endeavors. I have fun taking pictures of the whole process,
myself.
This works best if the recipe we choose allows plenty of time for
chatting in the natural breaks in the recipe, such as time for
simmering, sauteing, etc.
We also try out variations, on whatever recipe we are trying. I think
when we made panzanella, we each tweaked it slightly: we used
Charlotte's recipe as the base recipe.
So, come join us in making soup. I am leaning towards a soup with
chicken in it, as I have chicken in my freezer that needs to be used
up within the next month. Not sure which chicken soup I might make
yet...
I forget what kind of soup Nancy was going to make, and same for Alan.
