  1. Hi,

I'm planning a trip along part of the South Downs Way
tomorrow. I'm starting from the Winchester end and
just travelling along until I feel it's time to head
    back to the car.

The last time I visited the Downs (about 18mths ago) I
parked up somewhere off of the A31 but for the life of me
can't remember where and can't seem to be able to locate the
    car park on any maps.

Can anyone help me please. My brother is coming over at 10
tomorrow morning and I don't know where we're going!!!

I think the car park was somewhere in the region of Chilcomb
but also could easily have been on the A272???

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Rich

  2. I'd guess it's the cheesfoot head car park at SU528277 at
the top of the hill on the A272 where the SDW crosses it.

Richard, You can park in Chilcombe, it is only about 1/2m
from the start on the A31, I parked overnight there last
year before the Randonee; otherwise there are laybys on the
A31. Alternatively park on the other side of the motorway
and ride over the footbridge, Have fun ;-)

just report the car stolen. The police will get it back to
you in the end (or you will remember where you parked it
later like my dad). What colour was it?

    best wishes james
    :-)
