My Spam count really started to pump after posting in newsgroups and my
correct email address was attached to my posts. Just add "nospam" the end of
your address.

Where do you access your email address to do this and exactly how do you do
this? Do I have to clear it with my ISP? I find that I am getting more and
more spam lately too and it is must be due to my newsgroup postings as I
never buy anything over the Internet nor do I ever respond to spam in any
way. It seems to come at me out of the ether.

what software do you use to read newsgroups?
if its outlook express(which i think it is), on the main window click
tools>accounts>news tab>(select which account, you most likely only have
one)properties>under the general tab change your email address to something
like [email hidden]
some people have said that the spambots can remove the "nospam" part pretty
easily so do things like making a footer, <remove "nuts" to reply> with an
email address [email hidden]

i cant imagine why.

some spammers just make up random addresses and hope they go through. if you
send an email to "anything you like"@oputsnet.con.au you might luck out and
pick a valid email address. the problem for the isps isnt really the amount
of spam thats there customers get, its the huge amount of spam that no one
ever sees because the addresses arent valid(i think the figure was something
like 80% of emails)
hope this helps, if i have anything wrong i am sure someone else will help
you out

Thanks Stu. I am sure your directions will help many others too who like me
are not sophisticated when it comes to navigating our computers. I do have
OE so I will know how to do what you suggest just fine.

The reason for it is because you said you love lesbians in a previous
message on another thread. The spammers are on to you now that they know you
are a nut case. The only way to clear your name with the spammers is to say that you abhor
lesbians, and while you are at it you might as well say you abhor homos too.

I thought he was a lesbian and loved women. Am I wrong? Oh probably, I
defer to your higher wisdom, [censored] Dolan.

Is that your own personal email account or do you run a T1 server?

I just got a spam in which the spammer threatened to stop spamming me
unless I responded to his spam immediately.
Wonderful Spam!
