Anyone watch Spicks and Specks on ABC last night. They have a new segment where they have a record player powered by a bicycle. One person pedals the bike and the other two have to guess the song.
You could hook that up to your trainer at home and never need a computer to tell you if you're going fast or slow. Even better, if you like playing fast music when pedalling fast it would happen automatically.

Not a bad show hey especially for tacky 80's music types. I'm not sure the bike was actually connected up, seemed like it was just the DJ trying to match the speed maybe. Anyway any show that has Brian Eno as one of the questions can't be too bad. Suzyj have you heard the eno song called "Little Fishes"? And how bad was Paul Mac's mullet? 🙂

Put hands up, waves them around. 😄

I don't think it was a actual dynamo link or such, more like a speed indicator.

Yeah, we liked that. Who's this; flash the pic of Brian. Swift answer from the lounge Roxymusicbrianeno. My fave eno song is Kings Lead Hat. I like humming or whistling it when one encounters *odd people*. :p

I liked Greg Fleet's reaction - when they said who's this he shut his eyes!
A friend once said hey I like that eno song "Beck-al-med". What? "Y'know, Beck-al-med!" [pause] It's "Becalmed" you drongo! 🙂

Yeah you had to love World Of Sport, where it was 98% football, with 2% cycling on rollers and the woodchop to make Wordl of Sport rather than World of Footy.

I like Fleety. "Eddy McGuire is a very powerful tool" 😄 -- cfsmtb
All in all, Wednesday on abc is now a decent nights viewing.....New Inventors, Spicks and Specks, Black Books (new series), Glass House.
Black Books is the pick of the bunch for mine......glad it is back.
One of these days, I am going to get around to connecting a DC motor up to a stationary bike and use it to charge a Sealed Lead Acid battery (mainly out of morbid curiosity).

LBS has a couple of Cateye Gamebikes ( cateye.comviewProduct.phpOpen ↗ ) in the corner of the shop. I have been thinking about getting one.

You better explain to the younger generation what a record is.
