they were called spokey dokeys, and boy were they the hottest thing to put on your repco 3 speed dragster with chopper bars, banana seat and sissy bars.

i have a trailer bike with a lot on about 30 and i am selling the trailer bike but i have not seen any spoky dokes for about 3 years

When I was a kid I use to attach a hockey/baseball card to the left chain stay so that the card brushed up against the spokes to make noise as I rode.😄

I used to put the spokey dokeys on my mountain bike so that when I slowed down in a race to climb a hill, all you could hear was those darn spokey dokeys. It drove the other racers a little batty...[img]img258.imageshack.usdevilred4ry.gifOpen ↗[/img]

Spokey Dokeys! That's what they were called! I was hopping to get some for a gag gift for a road bike party... but it seems as i'm just a bit outdated... at least i'm not driving myself nuts anymore trying to remember what they were called... thx a bunch!

Back in Brooklyn we used to make them out of baseball cards.

you can Google a search for spoke beads or check Amazon.com and they sell them cheap for a big quantity bag depending on the seller. I thought of getting some for a couple of kids bikes.
