On the Markleevile Death Ride last year, there was a male cyclist who had on
a Sponge Bob Square Pants jersey. This was before the media got a hold of
the "Gay" comments. I remember a lot of women cyclist on the ride would
make positive comments; telling him; "nice jersey!" and he would respond;
"Sponge Bob Rules!" I'm not sure now well that jersey would go today.

If you are confident enough in your heterosexuality to walk around like
that, you should be confident enough in it that you don't give a damn
if someone has an issue with Sponge Bob.

I get laughed at for my "Oscar the Grouch" socks - especially since I
wear them on my commute to work and then just leave them on after I
change into my suit and wing tips.

Why would you be scared? does the thought of being forced out of the
closet intimidate you? If you are not repressing your desires, politely
turned down the offer. In general, people, gay or straight, do not pop
up in a parking lot and ask for a date. That may happen if you go to a
bar and act available, or if you have some kind of a relationship
established with a person. The chances of a gay guy that doesn't know
you are equal to a woman that doesn't know you approaching you because
of the shirt. Now, if you parade in the gay district with biking shorts
and any jersey, you may have a chance to score.

invitational ride. Those who complain about recumbent evangelists should
try the other side sometime.

I am not sure which is more annoying: the really stupid comments or the
