Hi Susan,

It wasn't me that requested this; however, I believe the person that
did ask was hoping to find an old/antique pin. I also posted a source
for a new one. There are lots of different patterns, however, so it's
nice to have multiple choices.

Jean, I should add that most springerle rolling pins, old or new, usually
share very similar designs; e.g., birds, flowers, fruits, etc. The really
intricate and even older classic designs are only found in flat molds into
which you roll the dough with a regular rolling pin.

My own springerle rolling pin was one that I purchased new in Germany, but
I've had it for nearly 40 years. I guess that might qualify it as at least
a vintage item, if not antique.

Some of tghose on eBay are actually vintage pins, not truly antique.

Jean, have you searched Google Images? It's a gold mine! I used
Springerle Pin as a search term and found antique reproductions along
with the new.
Here is one:

Well, vintage may be okay. I'll look.

I have an antique mold. Mom and I used to make gingerbread
cookies in it. Your comments remind me that this may actually
be a springerle mold.

Jean, have you searched Google Images? It's a gold mine! I used
Springerle Pin as a search term and found antique reproductions along

I have looked at House on the Hill several times. I'll have
to go back there and see whether they have ANY nice ones that
are actually made of wood.

That reminds me. There IS a man who makes really nice wooden

Well there were gingerbread molds, too, but I suspect they could be
interchangable.

I have a decorative replica of a gingerbread mold, but it's made of wax, so
definitely couldn't be considered for actual use. I have it hanging on the
wall in my kitchen.
