They're often supplied with new SRAM chains, but not always.
Parker International have them at just 50p each but p&p is £2.50. You
could order a new SRAM chain at the same time (supplied without
Powerlinks), however it would make sense to carry on with the existing
chain if *either* it's barely used or so used that you intend to carry on
until it and all the sprockets & rings are totally worn out.
PC41, PC48, PC58 are 8-speed chains.
Wiggle's Powerlink price is 99p with free post. They call it a
"connecting pin" but it's really two plates with built-in pins.

no problems. I also use a 9sp one with a Campag 9sp chain.
