Stage 6 TDF : Troyes - Nancy : Spoiler

Well to be honest Meingin did it himself the commentators said it allready he's going way to fast in the corner.............nice stage though! And what Vino is doing is good......that's the only way to get seconds on LA. LA will NEVER be in the front when they are sprinting..........

But luckily for LA the group crashed soo he lost 4 seconds on vino on the line and vino gets 12 extra seconds......so he gains 16 sec on LA??

Yeah, clever tactic by Vino, lure Lance into danger and with that jersey it's hard to recognise him in the rain. But it almost backfired for him when he turned the corner, so he's gained 12+4 = 16 seconds back. We would never see Ullrich try something uncanny like that IMO.

It was good work by Vino : he's now less than a minute down on LA.
Clever move on his part.

And I agree, only by attacking will any competitor have a chance against LA, on GC.
With the TDF arriving in Germany at the weekend, Mobile will want their team and riders to be prominent on home territory too.

I think that's correct. Agreed that Vino's gamble to go for a stage win and carve a few seconds out of Armstrong's lead seems to have been a good one. Too bad he was slightly delayed by Mengin's crash, or he probably would have gotten the win and another 8 precious bonus seconds. It will be interesting to hear whether Vino's late charge was pre-approved within the T-Mobile camp or whether he saw the chance and took it.

I've been saying all along that Vino is the wild-card for this Tour. You never know quite what he's going to do, and he has the talent to try just about anything at any time. I don't think it's a coincidence that the 2003 Tour was exciting with him in it, and last year's was a bit less so without him.

But, I'm assuming this wish be adjusted because of the crash.

Looks like Zabriskie lost around 7'30" today. Anybody know what happened to him? Is he still suffering from his crash or did reality catch up to the Z man today?

Those painted line will get you everytime you try to turn across them when they are wet.
How do I know this? Don't ask!
Very good stage and much more exciting than I anticipated.

Lim as in my PM to you yesterday and you agreed ,it is way too early to predict results in such a race.
Odds be damned,it is still up for grabs.

It's worth re-reading some of the earlier spoilers to see how carried away certain posters were when their man got his result in the ITT.

A bad crash. A rider getting sick. A rider having a bad day (s).
It can and it does, happen.

This TDF is wide open and will be wide open until the end of the second week/beginning of the third week.

Oh boy.....same counts for you guys......vino attacks and there is some hope again. I never stated Vino wouldn't attack or something. They will attack saturday again on that last cat 2 climb........but Vino is taking risks in the sprint stage which LA would never take! What IF Vino crashed too.......maybe his chances of GC would be gone......we don't know!

Nonetheless it's exciting for the race............

That thought crossed my mind when I saw Meingin crash - I wondered if Vino would stay upright.

But the point is that there are still plenty of factors that can, and might come in to play in the next two weeks and which could scupper the statement made after the ITT on day one "that this TDF is over" !

Very, very interesting... Now Vinokourov is only 1' 02'' behind Armstrong, puting extra pression on Ullrich shoulders...

The risk paid off this time, but in the next time we don´t know...

Na, he would have gotten the ST as the CG leaders. The only real risk with it is a significant injury that keep you from racing...
