  1. Went to see the gall bladder man on monday... He's pleased with me, likes my weight loss, and said
the op should be scheduled for 'some time in the New Year!' Yippee! I can relax until after
    Christmas!

I need a nuclear scan - whatever that is! (I have visions of glowing in the dark like a Halloween
ghost! That would be fun for Christmas!) Appointment for scan to follow... meanwhile, please donate
a gallon of blood to the vampires for all these tests!

Thursday a letter arrived from the hospital. Oh, goody, thought I, I'll get me scan done... No, NOT
the scan appointment, but the operation appointment!

22 December! As the family said, well that buggers up Christmas nicely! DH is already looking
forward to cooking Christmas Dinner all by himself! I will have to write him some detailed
instructions. I don't dare refuse the date, as god alone knows how long I'd have to wait if I did!

  2. Well Kate, it's inconvenient, but just think, it'll all be over that much sooner. And you'll be able
to take it easy during the Christmas holidays and just sit and delegate. <grin>

  3. While it will bugger up your plans, just think, it will be over quicker and you will be on the road
to recovery in the New Year.

    Good luck with the procedure.

Apparently the NHS sometimes give REALLY inconvenient dates so that people will refuse. They then
get rescheduled, but their statistics look better. 22nd december is not a nice date, but at least
you'll get seen sooner than you thought. Why not delay christmas for a month🙂

    Best of luck

  6. Kate,

Whenever something bad happens, try to find a bright side .. the one that naturally occurs to me is
that you probably wont' feel up to overdoing it on Christmas day! So no dramas on the scales!

    (hope that helps :o)

    ***snip***

I had my gallbladder removed some years ago. They did it with an endoscope and I was out the next
day. 3 small scars, minimal pain (only used one of the pills he perscribed then just a few Tylenol
ofe the next couple of days) and after a few short days was back 90%. Had to restrict lifting for a
while (and sleep in a recliner to keep from rolling over in the night) but overall I have had worse.

    Good luck.

Oh, I know - intelectually! But I got seriously depressed about it today! I want it to be OVER! I
just wish it was next week, not next month!

And thanks for all the good wishes, everyone. They will come in handy!
