  1. Going to lose access to a great 25 metre pool at work soon.

Where do you people swim during the winter ? Summer is not problem with
outdoor pools, cottage, public lakes, etc..., but winter indoor pools
are all so busy, not even worth the drive and change of clothing ...

    thanks

Also, wondering what kind of bike you recommend for triathlons and
training ? My budget could be under $500 which i know is cheapt, but...
we do what we can with what we have...

On the first - outdoor heated pools? Not bad once you're in. Indoor
    heated pools at weird hours?

On the bike - I would recommend you go to any bike shop, see what
they've got, what you like, try it out, figure out what sort of size you
need and what sort of geometry you prefer, and start looking for 2nd
hand bikes that fit that description. Many people will try to sell a 4
y.o. bike for about $1000 less than what they bought it for 4 years ago,
despite the fact that you could now get a bike with the same gear or
better for well under that price. When you point out these facts, the
    price falls rapidly.

In my experience, this is only a problem if you are trying to workout
    during "lap swim" time.

If you plug into a structured (coached) workout program, you will
likely get more elbow room. The downside is that these workouts are
usually *very* early in the morning and cost money.

I've only had to share a lane once at my current pool, and that was in
the summer. And, in my experience at other clubs, the big clogging
factor is the water aerobics classes hogging half the pool and getting
all snitty if your stroke gets a drop of water over the lane line and
into "their" part of the pool. Some of these people don't want to get
    wet.
