thanks; the wireless computer at 5.49 has got to be worth a pop, even
with my risible experiences with previous ones. And it's solar powered
    ;-)

I got their track pump last time they did a cycle thing and the
connector lasted about 3 pumps. However the solar computer still
    going strong.

The one I bought for SWMBO's bike is still going strong too, although
the mounting is a bit crappy and it sometimes gives silly speeds like
75mph when stationary at traffic lights.

Perhaps it was picking up the speed of the cyclist running the red light
next to her, 'coz as we all know, thanks to the instructions of the denizens
of uk.tosspot, all cyclists run red lights... of course something a motorist
would never do, no sir ;-)

<AOL>, as they say. Although I think it might have managed five.
Mind you, I'm still using it, even though it doesn't work.

I fancy the 'robot' vacuum cleaner. Sold out on-line but loads in my
local branch today. I resisted temptation then but might succumb before
    they're sold out...

Me too, or I would if I had a robot that needed cleaning ;-)

Our local Somerfield now has an aisle with Tchibo gear there, but it's only
household stuff - no cycling gear.

That's the problem with those radio-based ones - they are very prone
to interference. Mine regularly bounds forward a couple of hundred
metres if I have it in my pocket when going past anti-theft barriers
    in supermarkets.
