Just the other day I was reading about a woman who was
caring for her alzhemiers stricken husband - he had no
cooking skills left but one day he scraped off all the
telfon from her frying pan. The only thing she could say was
"Thank you for scraping off the teflon".

I have one of those griddle pans that sits across two
burners. Well, it used to be non stick ... it had that
crappy old fashioned type of coating that would flake off if
you so much as looked at it. I don't know about the rest of
you, I like butter and syrup on my french toast, not teflon
(whatever) flakes.

I took my power sander (whatever it's called) and got the
[censored] off of the griddle. Now it's just an aluminum griddle.
I can't say as I would recommend that, who know what the
effects are to sanding non stick coatings.

Having said that, I'm talking about a flat surface, the
original post sounded like a pot. Forget about it, what a
chore! Just toss it and get a new pot. I don't even know why
people buy non stick pots.

Use it for other things...melting wax for candles...making
soap...warming tar ... lead for fishing weights...heating
powdered wood glues... planter...etc. If you really don't
want to chuck it.

Ah, but if you soak the pot it right away, it comes off
easily. I'll never buy another teflon pot. It's a waste of
