Although in my defence I don't have any proper warm
cycling clothes etc I might have to invest in some...
I managed to get a fair amount of cycling in over the winter
months - at least 2-3 circuits of 25+ miles and the odd
evening 10 miler. It's hasn't been especially cold and the
winter cycling shirts and jacket that I bought from Aldi
proved to be sufficient for most of the trips. There was
only once when i felt cold and that was at the end of the
day, the sun had dropped and the airteperature plummeted.
Last week I was out in the dales camping and I will admit to
using B&B in Richmond when Wednedays projected
evening/nightime temperatures would have challenged the
insulation of the lightweight sleeping bag that I had with
me. Had a glorious time seeing and hearing lapwings for the
first time in ages, being woken up by a woodpecker at
05:45, seeing stunning views of Wharfedale, Littondale,
BishopDale, Wensleydale and Swaledale and having a long
soak in the bath in Richmond.
Geeting back to the clothing...do keep a look out for the
'specials' from Aldi, Lidle and Netto. The cycle and running
clothing will not set the fashion world alight but it's
exceptional value with good performance on the
wicking/warmth front.

you not to.
Oh, the battles I had with myself over the issues of
whether to have an evening ride or not....I usulally
elected to stay in :-)
All winter I did a couple

and a longer,
2-3

summer but it

bargain winter
clothes.
I've had some great rides over tha past month or so. The
winter clothing range for Aldi appear October/Nov I think
though I've seen adverts in the cycling comics for last
year's styles though the bargains seem to be getting thin on
the ground.
