VERY disappointed in Ullrich... But I suppose maybe he is past his best
(though obviously still very good...) Maybe they should have structured
the team more around Vino or Kloden??

Basso & Rasmussen are the guys I'm barracking for now - I expect Lance
to win, but want these two to stay close enough, and maybe even do some
reckless attacks, so that Lance has to show us just how good he is to
win the Tour.

And nice work Cadel. First Tour must be a pretty overwhelming
experience, so I like the way he is working....

the pace they were maintaining was nuts, and watching such good riders get dropped seemingly out of the blue was wierd

And Cadel went well too! couldnt quite hang on in the last 1-2km but still looks like he might be able to sneak further up the GC over the next few days

Its kinda hard to believe with LA riding THAT well that he is gonna retire.

Got to agree with you Carl. That was a good ride by Vino (and as you say he had to go) but not awesomely awesome. I don't doubt that if the Discovery train had really wanted to real him in they would have done so. The ride by Lance and Valverde the previous night was, as FD said, awesome.

I'll admit I support Lance and am glad he appears to be in such good form. It is a real shame that he didn't decide to just retire from the tour and go and spend a year doing some of the other events like the Giro.

I am really impressed with Cadel Evans though and really hope he can continue to stay with the leaders and end up top 10 in Paris. He has had plenty of bad luck/clumsy(?) accidents and deserves to show what he really has got..which at present looks pretty good!

More fantastic action yet to come though and anything can happen to any of them.
