Caffeine isn't on the UCI banned/limited list anymore. Hasn't been for a while.
Thanks, I didn't know that. It was when I used to bang up and down the E1 on sunday mornings. I felt quite guilty about the couple of Pro Plus (the student's friend) I dropped once!

The TV has featured a group of cancer survivors who have been doing the whole route. Can't immediately find it on Google but he is definitely not the only one.
