  1. I got an email today about the trek Madrone.
Is there a place to demo one of these bikes. I have never
    ridden a carbon bike yet.
Trek should sponsor, a demo day at various locations in the SF bay area for
me to check this bike out.

and found the demo schedule there:

This is what I found under "Southwest":

You should have looked more closely:

    "Everything Else Is History"
"Trek changes the rules again with a new benchmark for total performance."
"No compromises between ride quality and weight. Merge form and function.
Make it striking and make it beautiful."

And ... It's really similar to what Lance rode.

    Oooooh! Carbon!

It is obvious now, that all that has come before is now obsolete.

But the carbon will be made in China, that's what makes it better than last
    years.

I thought it was a very good article from Zinn.
I'll never purchase one, but I'm interested to see Trek's technology of
the "pop-in" bottom bracket and headset.

The standard modern routine (not just bicycles), "The junk we palmed off
on you last year is obsolete. Our new new new thing _looks different_!!
    Buy one now!"

Yes it has rapidly become a commonly used term among _retro-grouches_,
it entered the English language on June 4th, 2007 and was first used by
a person known only as "g".

It is normally used in a negative context to describe the latest new,
    new, new, thing in cycling.

the only tool you need is a hack-saw. Pop-in headsets and BB's, but you
have to hack-saw the seat tube for fit.

  16. That was one of the funniest, comments.
    Ok.

A madrone is an elegantly beautiful kind of tree. Trek's bike,
however, is a Madone-- French for Madonna.

Perhaps they're banking on a common subconscious desire to ride
    Madonna?
