Great weekend, lots of fun. The shortening of the races due to the effects of the new surface on tyre wear was a bit disappointing but Marquez managed to get himself black flagged so the game's wide open again.

We were sitting in the grandstand near turn 3, not far from a track marshal position so I saw the black flag go up, with "93" next to it. I was like "WTF? Am I seeing things?" so pulled out the binoculars for a closer look and sure enough, it was the real deal. Had earplugs in so couldn't hear what the on track commentators were saying. But when we got to invade the track at the end of the race, I made a beeline for the track marshal to ask him and got the official word - failed to make required pit stop. Sucks to be him, but at the moment I am a bit of a Lorenzo fan, so I'm happy he is within striking distance of the championship again. Crowds were down a bit, but still a fun atmosphere.

Thanks Aussie. Knee farked. And yeah - that's fine to quote the quote I stole :big-smile:. But we need to get some really cool stats. The BOM has an interesting measure of wind (and has years of history) which seems to be something like "how many kilometres of wind have blown".

It'd have to be good to beat the Cafina Alpha machines at 7-Eleven.

I must consider all parametres when I go for my night "coffee drive", and a brief feasibility analysis tells me the following:

My XR6 Turbo chews up about 15.5L/100km around town (even when there are no other cars on the road), which, when I buy BP Ultimate for ~$1.53/L, translates to about $2.40 for every 10km I drive.
The nearest Shell Servo coffee joint is ~3.6km from my joint, but I have a 7-Eleven 1.2km away; another one ~2.2km away, a 3rd one ~2.9km away, and a fourth one approx 3.2km; all of which have the cool Cafina Alpha machines, churning out $1 cappuccinos.
Then there's the question of how many sets of traffic lights I must drive through on my way to each store.

For anyone who thought that getting in the car to get a coffee is easy, think again
