Yeah. There was another spring race were he chased and chased and
chased, *nearly* made it (like, 30 meters or so), but then had to give
up. I like how he is always good at Paris-Roubaix. Doesn't seem the type
for it, but he's there. He is a real folk hero in Flanders, always
trying to please his fans by attacking, pulling faces, making jokes
before or afterwards; and they appreciate it!

I liked it when i read he'll be riding in the Pijnacker crit in a few
weeks. They have a nice line-up without the expensive guys. Some
Fassa-Bortolo riders could also come (Flecha, Petacchi):

Isn't he (or wasn't he?) one of VDB's best friends in the peloton? When VDB
had plently of juice, Nico followed him from team to team (at VDB's
insistance) and they roomed together as well. I think they even got the
exact same tattoo...

I am surprised I even read this, let alone commented.
Frankly, I buy as many socks as I can think will be needed on each trip to
the US. French socks, at least, fit poorly, last minimally, and are the
"shocking contrast" in many a gentleman's wardrobe. Orange Simpsons' socks
with a dark grey business suit, for example.
