  1. But we all have to start somewhere,

Hello, :-) I have been lurking on this newsgroup for a couple of months now trying to get some info
    in biking and stuff,

I have just bought a KONA Blast (and a top-tastik bike it is too!) but to register the warranty I
have to give the serial number for the bike.... WHERE IS IT! Am I being stupid? Have I missed
    something? Please help.

and also, why haven't KONA updated the web site? The owners and register online area has been
    'coming soon' for a while.

    thanks in advance,

the second question is easy.. most manufacturers websites suck, for the most part. If you ask me,
    and you did, kinda ;-)

  3. Try looking on the bottom of the down-tube (tube between your handlebars and pedals).

Well you haven't polished every inch of your bike. It's the law that new bikes must be polished all
over using only the dampness of ones breath as polish and silk briefs as cloths and if you had you
    would have seen the number:-)

But seriously - most likely you will find the number under the bottom bracket.

    Kind regards

    Bruno

And if you don't know what a bottom bracket is, it's is the bit (the housing for the bearings) where
the crankshaft goes through the frame.

I have a bike where the serial number is on the rear dropout.

Yeah, and if you don't know what he means by a crankshaft..........heheheh!

Easy - flip the bike over. The bit where the spindle, that the cranks (the bits the pedals are
attached to) goes into the frame is the bottom bracket shell (tube shape that runs from one side of
the biketo the other). Serial number is usually stamped onto that.

    thanks in advance,

I've noticed the owners area too, but they also have the 2004 bikes up already, so you can't say the
    whole site hasn't been updated.

Yeah, they've updated the 'new sales' bit then, but the 'supporting of existing customers' bit has
been left alone - typical, eh?

    Heheheh - I'm gone!

Try looking on the sales receipt.
