I agree that the IM was incriminating but it was evidence in
a trial and JV has never, to my knowledge, discussed it
in any way in a public forum.

Just because it's true doesn't mean Vaughters would want to invite a
lawsuit.

High Road has $20 million in the team account from a severance agreement

Anorexic Drew Carey and Slipstream are based in Boulder and so is
Velonews. So it's very easy to mate.

Also, when you put Taylor Phinney on that team, apparently people in
Boulder think that is like Lance Armstrong's successor or something.

This whole Slipstream thing is gonna implode. Once Doug Ellis gets
tired of writing million dollar checks into a bottomless pit of an
"investment" and the team finds it can't get a sponsor, then you might
stand a better chance of reading a real article.

But right now, in cycling, Anorexic Drew Carey and Slipsemen are the new
Britney Spears of cycling.

That's what all this hype is about. I would imagine when Danielson gets
3rd in a stage at the Giro, they'll put him on the cover too.

vaughters gets kudos all around for 'developing riders', but when it's
time to go euro-pro he simply signs established protour riders.

what do you think their giro roster will look like ? vandevelde,
zabriskie, millar ...

a third of last year's team was let go, yet apparently there is no
pressure to dope on this team because performance doesn't matter.

Well, I think, as I said, that Vaughters doesn't want to burn any
bridges in public, but let me just start spreading a rumor which I think
fits the Standard rbr Theory anyways: he moved to Credit Agricole to
experience a different philosophy of how bike racing should be done.

I don't know why I think these things. I'm just a nerd in Port Moody who
eats too much and trains too little. I have no contacts in the upper
echelons of cycling, except that one time when Alison Sydor fondled my
shark hat.

By the way, JV's "naturally high hematocrit" must have accounted
for his 56:50 ride up Ventoux in 1999. Faster than Pantani,
faster than Lance and faster than anyone else in history
until Mayo eclipsed it in 2004 with a 55:51.
