Interesting that Lampre has Cunego downplaying his chances and saying Gibo is the leader...

Cunego's form seems pretty darn good considering Romandie and LBL.

Always when I hear him talk in the press I get the feeling he wants to ride in the tour to compare him with Armstrong and other top guys. He has one oppertunity........and he wants to see how far he can reach with the best in the world.....That's why I think Gibo is leader and if he falters Cunego jumps in.......I get the sense he wants to fire on all cilinders at le tour.

Rasmussen is more a kind of guy that goes for stages. He's too agressive to go for GC, were you have to limit wasting energy. I think he can win a mountain stage......but the big goal as well as the rest of Rabobank is le tour.

Well, over 2 minutes lost by Rasmussen on stage 1.... Hope to see him go hard for a stage win like you said.

I am hoping for a surprise or two from the two Euskaltel riders (Aitor Gonzalez and Haimar Zubeldia). They both have the potential, with Gonzalez being a past Vuelta Espana winner and Zubeldia finishing 5th at the Tour in 2003!

I AGREE!! As soon as the 1500-2000+ Meters hit, those two guys will be finishing in the top 10 and gaining valuable time. I think Haimar could go for the Green Mountains Jersey. I thought Samuel Sanchez would maybe finish a little higher up in the GC then he probably will. This is his first Grand Tour, but he will be good!!
