What Pro Tour? The Pro Tour presently known in professional cycling is a project
of the UCI. The UCI is a skateboard and rollerblade stunt league. It has nothing
to do with cycling as of about three months from now.

It's dead, just doesn't know it yet.

I didn't know about the Rival Pro-Tour when I made the post you
responded to though

I didn't either. But I'm thinking most of the season will be over by then and I
am not the only one who can see how badly UCI represents the riders, the sport,
the promoters and sponsors. EVERY faction within the game is ill-served by UCI
and that just isn't viable. I mean if you want to stay in power you've got to be
doing somebody somewhere something that they welcome and I just don't see a
constituency for them anymore.

Who would cry if they lost their power over professional cycling?

They'll probably end up with amateur cycling and maybe some of the track stuff.
They might even be no worse at it than other amateur sanctioning bodies. But as
a professional league they are hopeless and should go away before the sport is
wrecked any worse.
