No, it wasn't the sharp cut off edge of the "Mr. Tuffy" cutting into the
tire. I feather off the liners on my bench grinder.
I had put thousands of miles (maybe 10 grand or so) on the liners. The tube
cuts ( I had two in a row) were lengthwise about 1 cm long, in the area
where the liner overlaps itself. I noticed no penetration of the liner on
the first instance. On the second I noticed the inner liner had a matching
cut. Also, I noticed a weird distressed area over the cut, forming two
sharp Vs about 2 cm long. I've stopped using the liner and all is well. It
is just so weird.
I figure the liner after 8,000 miles or so is getting soft and somehow
pinching itself where it overlaps.
Anyone seen such a thing?
