Went to Swindon today and came across a wonderful new cycle farcility.

Definitely one to be sent to the Warrington Cycle Campaign. Nice of Swindon
to produce farcilites for our European brethren who cycle on the right they
can do that at the same time as we cycle on the left, and we can meet
face-to-face in a spirit of err... collision ;-)

Photos aren't too bad; we have something similar in Kingsbury. The
pavement was very wide in places and had the magic green asphalt
applied, which does nothing to alter where the local peds amble. As the
footway is narrow in some places, the farcility crosses Kingsbury Road
twice, over Toucans, which have similar approach treatment.
It's rather simpler on the road...

Not true. The peds (me included) are drawn to the pretty red/green path
and can't keep their little feet off it.

Interestingly, the powers that be have not deemed it necessary to stipulate
the same priorities on the road as well.
