Yes it was peaceful. But having a holiday is such hard work
though isn't it? Being obligated to go out each day to make
the most of it, no matter what the weather.
Fortunately the weather was mostly good. Unfortunately I
think I got too much sun on day one and suffered from
tiredness and mild headaches for the next few days, but
still, I enjoyed some pleasant strolls and got some nice
photos. After all, what other reason is there to go out?
Makes a nice change to visit a predominantly coastal area
rather than a hilly one, but North Devon really excels in
steep, twisty and narrow roads, not to mention excessive car
park prices - £3 was the average, one was £4.50. Naturally I
didn't pay for any of them, on principle. Either I parked
elsewhere (whether I really should have or not) or mostly
visited them very early or late, at which times there was no
one around to collect the charge
(Cars cost more than enough to buy, to maintain, to keep on
the road and to make them go. I draw the line at paying for
not using them.)
