  1. Just to publicly provide the other side that people here are
requesting, here are things by the right that [censored] me off in addition
to all those I've already listed.

Lincoln Chafee being blasted by the extreme right for this among other
    things:

The message is "We don't tolerate independent opinions unless they are

many more things to be [censored] about here which the above are from:

Try here for things like these:
    http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/012/070vzfcm.asp

How arrogant and idiotic is it to judge that someones faith isn't as
good as yours because it's a little different. This helps highlight the
rights version of "we're inclusive as long as you think just like us."
Then we can throw in the never ending "Gays are a threat to everybody
and everything we believe in, but we will help them with medical
    treatment to become normal."
This goes along with the tirade against allowing homosexual couples
the protections and ability to pursue happiness that is supposed to be
    there for all Americans.
Nothing like a little segregation, discrimination, and whipped up
hatred, which in this case is the only harm being caused. The "problem"
isn't one, and the response sure as hell is.

Darwinism, born in ideological struggle, has never escaped from an intimate

This morning I rode 40 minutes to a race, raced a little under two
hours, then rode home. It was raining the whole time, sometimes
torrentially and sometimes lightly. Then there was no hot running
water when I got home. Oh joy.

More evidence of cherry picking and twisting intelligence:

    http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/04/23/cia.iraq/index.html
Tyler Drumheller, the former highest-ranking CIA officer in Europe,
told "60 Minutes" that the administration "chose to ignore" good
intelligence, the network said in a posting on its Web site.

More ressults of Rummy and the boys totally disregarding a decades
worth of warplanning by competent people:

'If you stand still, you WILL get shot at'

Marines patrolling this city on foot don't like to stay exposed too
long, preferring instead to blow front gate locks off private homes
with special shotgun shells to take temporary cover in walled

That should, rather nicely, turn the undecided into supporters of the
insurgents. Blow the door open becuase your diving for someplace to
hide, then leave the family with no way to lock it in their own
protection. Good way to convince people you're providing THEM security.

    More from the intolerance brigade:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2006/04/24/washington/24catholic.html

WASHINGTON, April 23 - About 50 prominent religious leaders,
including seven Roman Catholic cardinals and about a half-dozen
archbishops, have signed a petition in support of a constitutional
    amendment blocking same-sex marriage.

I have a hard time resisting both temptation, and a challenge. This

The below is in response to this :

Harman added that "while leaks are wrong, I think it is totally wrong
for our president in secret to selectively declassify certain
information and empower people in his White House to leak it to favored
reporters so that they can discredit political enemies," she said on
    Fox News Sunday.
Harman was referring to White House staff members disclosing the
classified identity of CIA case officer Valerie Plame in 2003.

    Some quotes from the page:

So, while the Democrats certainly don't condone Mary McCarthy's
leaks (of course not) - indeed, they don't even know the full
extent of the Kerry donor's leaks - it's all Bush's fault.

These cold, calculated comments, which are dismissive of an egregious
act of betrayal committed against our country, are a new low even for
these 1960s retreads. It also makes you wonder if McCarthy has been a
source of information not only to the media, but to members of
    Congress.

    http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/008283.php
    ____________________________________________________
Says the Post in the second to last graf ...

"The White House also has recently barraged the agency with questions about
the political affiliations of some of its senior intelligence officers,
    according to intelligence officials."

CIA officers don't work under the same civil service rules as most government
employees. But I still don't think this sort of political purge activity is
    permitted.

Not that we should be surprised about this. When Porter Goss took over as DCI he
brought over with him a number of GOP political operatives. Take the CIA head of
Public Affairs Goss installed: Jennifer Millerwise Dyck. She was a flack from
the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign. Before that she worked for Goss on the Hill. And
before that she worked for Ari Fleischer at the House Ways and Means Committee.

The administration's response to the ills of the intelligence agencies has been
to further politicize them, to put them under more reliable political control.

'Unit's' military expert has fighting words for Bush
    By David Kronke, TV Critic

Eric Haney, a retired command sergeant major of the U.S. Army, was a
founding member of Delta Force, the military's elite covert
counter-terrorist unit. He culled his experiences for "Inside Delta
Force" (Delta; $14), a memoir rich with harrowing stories, though in an
interview, Haney declines with a shrug to estimate the number of times
he was almost killed. (Perhaps the most high-profile incident that
almost claimed his life was the 1980 failed rescue of the hostages in
    Iran.)

    <snip>

Q: What do you make of the torture debate? Cheney ...

A: (Interrupting) That's Cheney's pursuit. The only reason anyone
tortures is because they like to do it. It's about vengeance, it's
about revenge, or it's about cover-up. You don't gain intelligence that
way. Everyone in the world knows that. It's worse than small-minded,
    and look what it does.

I've argued this on Bill O'Reilly and other Fox News shows. I ask, who
would you want to pay to be a torturer? Do you want someone that the
American public pays to torture? He's an employee of yours. It's worse
than ridiculous. It's criminal; it's utterly criminal. This
administration has been masters of diverting attention away from real
issues and debating the silly. Debating what constitutes torture:
Mistreatment of helpless people in your power is torture, period. And
(I'm saying this as) a man who has been involved in the most pointed of
our activities. I know it, and all of my mates know it. You don't do
it. It's an act of cowardice. I hear apologists for torture say, "Well,
they do it to us." Which is a ludicrous argument. ... The Saddam
Husseins of the world are not our teachers. Christ almighty, we wrote a
Constitution saying what's legal and what we believed in. Now we're
    going to throw it away.

Q: As someone who repeatedly put your life on the line, did some of the
most hair-raising things to protect your country, and to see your
country behave this way, that must be ...

A: It's pretty galling. But ultimately I believe in the good and the
decency of the American people, and they're starting to see what's
happening and the lies that have been told. We're seeing this current
house of cards start to flutter away. The American people come around.
    They always do.

information and empower people in his White House to leak it to favored
reporters so that they can discredit political enemies," she said on
    Fox News Sunday.

It also makes you wonder if McCarthy has been a
source of information not only to the media, but to members of
    Congress.

I have a problem with the leaks and do think they need to be
prosecuted. I also have a couple of other much larger problems.
Sleazeballs who are in a position to classify material will often use
this tool to cover up their melfeasance and incompetence. They slap a
classification on the whole incident, and then the information comes
with a "need to know" tag also. What this rather nicely does is make it
much harder to report the incident, or defend yourself. My worst
commander, who was eventually relieved of duty after a series of
Congressional complaints brike through his wall, loved this tool. he
destroyed a bunch of his NCOs and troops careers first though. The
catches are that your lawyer may not have the proper level of
clearance, they do bend over backwards to protect senior people, and
they wont provide you one with it, you're screwed because you can't
give them the info you need to defend yourself. Then they usually
threaten/decide that your need for the info to defend yourself does NOT
give your lawyer the "need to know" this information.
Classification IS used as a weapon to shut people up pretty regularly.
Then we have selective prosecution all across the board, as in the
McCarthy case this is being used as a weapon.
Having been in the ring, and then having a ringside seat for this
[censored], it pisses me off beyoond belief. I saw quite a few excellent
dedicated people who were trying to do their job and get rid of a a
corrupt POS have their careers wrecked using these tools.
It took the Congressional led by Sonny Montgomery asking our Major
Command just why there were so many actions being taken against people
in an award winning unit, and why our reenlistment rate had dropped to
the lowest in the AF before anyone in the chains of command did
    anything but cover it up.
Same [censored] in the Bush/Cheney mess.
I'm also really [censored] that they leak the info on Plame
originally, deny it up and down, get caught at it, once again throw a
small fish to the wolves. We spend [censored] of money and time on a
criminal investigation into all of this, they find it goes much higher
because their small fish now has the public protection so that he can
sing about his bosses scumbag behavior. Just when they start solidly
tying in the senior scumbags who arranged all this, we have a declass
order that says there was no criminal activity.
Wanna check that order to see if the ink is still wet, I do? Even on
the miniscule chance they did declass the info first, how the hell is
it justified to let the investigation appen, spend money and time on
it, and even encourage it when they KNEW in the end there was no crime?
That's seems to me to come under all three of Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.

Let's sure as hell hope so, but from what I've seen in polls among

Criminal, scumbag, behavior from politicians is bipartisan, but lord
knows people only seem to see the other guys politicians doing it while
imitating the "Three Monkeys" in regard to theirs.

No, it isn't a "hear no, see no" thing. It's just a more reasoned and effective
    response than your sputtering rage.

I used to laugh at people who let Clinton get to them in the same way.
