  1. 6 hills a bit too much for a detailed report... hope this is of
    interest/of use.

    Managerial summary follows....

    1. Walk in 20.45 friday
Fine until the quartz ran out then head torches were required.
Silhouettes of assorted hills were good land marks.

    2. Shenavall arrival 11pm
3 people in the bothy. We had a room to ourselves. Tent became a pillow.

    3. Burn crossing 1.
Additional footware carried but not required. Rock hopped across.

    3. Hill 1 - Beinn a' Chlaidheimh
Steep ascent. Enjoyable scrambling up some small buttresses. At least 3
    false summits!

    4. Hill 2 - Sgurr Ban
Shattered quartz looked hard from a distance but not too bad once up
close. Some small snow fields still present. threw snowballs at wife...

    5. Hill 3 - Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair
Bit of a motorway of a path up the scree. Looked a bit slippy but turned
out ok. Great views down Coire Mhic Fhearchair.

    6. Hill 4 - Beinn Tarsuinn
Contoured round Meall Garbh to get here. Some scrambling available on
the summit ridge. Unusual flat plateau near the summit.

    7. Hill 5 - A' Maighdean
Long trip to get here involving a drop to a boggy bealach. Amazing
summit views. Route in from the north looked like it was worth a return
    visit.

    8. Hill 6 - Ruadh Stac Mor
Stunning walk to this one over warped and twisted rock. Good scrambling
    on Torridonian sandstone (avoidable).

    9. Walk back to bothy.
Came straight off hill 6 and joined the path through gleann na muice beag.

    10. Burn crossing 2
Probably should have used alternate footware but got away with it just...

    11. Burn crossing 3
    Jumped the burn!

    12. Bothy night 2
Sat and ate dinner watching the sun go down... magical!

    13. Walk out the next day
Much easier when you can see what you are doing!

    taking the same route

The route from the North is infinitely preferable and gives a lovely
    scramble at the end.

Thanks for the details - this is one of the expeditions I have on the
planning board. You were clearly lucky to get this spell of dry
    spring weather.

Can you give some idea of how long it took you to get round - or even
times to the major tops. Lindsay's page talks about 15 hours which
seems pretty serious stuff for what is a 15 mile day albeit with 7500
    ft climbing in it.

I know it sounds cheeky, but what age group are you ? - the reason I
ask is that my group are all retired and we need to scale things
    accordingly.

11 hours in total for us. It included a break on each summit plus one
between Beinn Tarsuinn and A' Maighdean. Numerous photo stops too.

    A rough breakdown -
    8.15 start
10.15 on summit of Beinn a' Chlaidheimh
    11.30 on Sgurr Ban
12.15 at Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair
    13.15 on Beinn Tarsuinn
    15.15 on A' Maighdean
    16.15 on Ruadh Stac Mor
17.15 rejoin path near gleann na muice beag
    19.15 back at the bothy

Many thanks Mike - I'll process that data to the rates that we reckon
we go at - also allowing for fatigue!!

I had thought of going and camping up G na Muice to reduce the 'big
day' distance a few miles. It is certainly attractive to try and do
the lot in a oner - Lindsay's report is a bit alarming but it
certainly highlights that one long, if necessary slow day, is
infinitely preferable to what I reckon is 25 mile plus over 2 days and
    9500 of climbing.

Crumbs. The rivers must have been *really* low.

    Happy to help.

We also had made a conscious decision to go in April... no midges! But
    the ticks were awful.
