trek 7..4 vs specialized crossroads

which are you guys thoughts on choice for a better overall bike for pave and slight trails

I test rode the 7.4 non-disc yesterday right after testing a 7.3. I didn't notice a huge improvement in ride quality over the 7.3 but the shifters are nicer. Probably going to get one but I have to mentally get over the gray color first. I know function over form but that gray is not real exciting. We don't have a Specialized dealer here in town so I can't comment on them.

thanks hopefully someone will post there thoughts on the crossroads. maybe someone who has rode both bikes.

I going to start small rides but hopefully be trying for like 18km to 30+ after. looking at the giant roam as well?
