What's it worth? Fair condition, two flats, tires look OK, no cracking.
Shifters shift, brakes work, center pull. Nice seat, newer than bike.
18s. SSI, Shimno, twist. Wheels are true but the back has a couple loose
spokes. No rust or damage. Dirty!

It looks like a hybrid. No drops. Rear wheel has a tight spot and it is not
the brakes. Quick release on both wheels.

I got it at a yard sale. Not got it home yet. Photos if needed.

These were made from 1993 to 2000. The MSRP in 2000 was $350.00. This is a starting point for you. Tight spot in rear wheel is probably either hard grease or some dirt. Should free up after you clean and relube it.

If the bike proves to be worth having, I plan on a total rebuild, cleaning,
lube, tubes, maybe tires, new brake pads, pedals, cables, have the wheels
serviced.

Paint is good, all the decals are intact.

I paid $40, the LBS said any Trek that was all there and not
damaged was worth redoing.

When I get it home I will do the Trek search on their site and find
just what I have. I looked at Ebay and can't find one that looks
like mine.

Thanks.

Took it by the LBS and they did a number search and
it is a 1991 custom ordered. Not sure what is different
about it. They said it could but just a simple thing that
was different from the standard model or a special
size frame.

Work in progress.. Back wheel was bad, seam had opened up
and was loose. Redoing the front to match the new rear. Got
a deal on the rear wheel, they didn't have the matching front.
I am a bargain shopper, got a deal on the tires as well, not
real up on the white, but the price was right. And they look
good with the black bike and wheels. Pedals and pads,
all the rest was just dirt. Hope to ride it next week?

That looks like a nice find; I like it! Please keep us posted on how it rides!

Got it together enough to ride it tonight. Pretty nice ride.
Gearing is very close together. Just a couple miles so
far. A bit more cleaning to do and some spots to buff
out.

Brake pad adjustment is touchie to say the least.

Well, I rode it about twenty miles today and it is a nice bike.
Smooth and agile. Shifts are flawless, brakes are flawless.
Very solid feel, but not harsh. No computer, but I was
with cars in a thirty zone and had no problem staying
with most of them. Traffic in that area is slower than
the limit most of the time. School zone and cross
walks.

Caught in a brief shower but not a problem. Keeps
the white tires white../img/vbsmilies/smilies/rolleyes.gif

I really like the look of the Trek with the white tires, looks like you got a great deal and are enjoying it!!
