For a source of hubs I would try asking Peter Eland at Velovision [email hidden] . Their
website velovision.co.ukvelovision.co.ukOpen ↗ has a special needs cycling buyers guide which might be
worth a look

SJS cycles (www.sjscycles.com) sell adult tricycles and they sell spares for same. Worth a try to
see if they stock the hubs or wheels you want. Pashley (www.pashley.co.uk )also make tricycles so
they also might sell you the hubs.

ICE make their own hubs for Trices, but they don't use quick releases.

As to wheel-building, I trued one of the wheels for teh trice by making a fake axle that fitted teh
wheel and my normal truing jig. The main issue was just finding the right selection of washers, nuts
and bits of spacer to compensate for teh flanges being offset across teh width of teh hub, so that
they ended up central in teh jig.

Whole lot more DIY in teh recumbent community, and they're more tricycle aware than teh upright
community too. Maybe try a recumbent newsgroup and/or list?

Russ, I was wondering whether you had come across the idea of using FES to enable a rider with
spinal cord injury to pedal a recumbent trike. There was an item on Tomorrow's World a while ago
featuring a paralysed rider using a converted Windcheetah. I've been trying to trace the episode but
the BBC seem to have excised TW from their website. This link shows something similar:

might be worth contacting Longstaff Cycles (they are still going, even though George died recently).
I'm sure they would have something, as George used to make a whole variety of machines for riders of
all abilities.

chair ones if that's what you are after - I've got a set from the dump, in the workshop waiting for
me to get round to building a trailer.

Maybe give Mike Burrows a call, since he only seems to be interested in one sided supports for *any*
sort of cycle these days and if he doesn't know then it probably isn't worth knowing... Burrows

Also perhaps have a word with Cannondale stockists, since presumably their "lefty" MTB forks may use
some sort of QR?

Thanks for that Dave - yes I'm aware of FES cycling - it's still a bit too cutting edge to be
available or useable to all but worth keeping in mind.
