want them to know that he had car trouble, they're always telling him what a piece of junk his
car is because it has some rust. Well I'm sorry, but he lives in Edmonton and when you have salt
on the streets you get rust. Something they just don't understand living in California.
We end up with lots of salt on the roads here too, so I know what you mean. Shoot rusty cars are a
part of life here!
Well apparently not in California they're not! Unless they're quite old I guess. Who knows.

apart. We were going along fine and then suddenly things got very loud and we could hear a
scraping sound. Pulled over, looked underneath, and sure enough we had a problem. I just got DF
a CAA (AAA in the US) membership for Christmas - how handy! Called the number from my cell phone
(his doesn't do roaming) and spoke with a charming operator at AAA who asked if I knew where
abouts on the road we were. Yep, on the highway, southbound, somewhere between Paragonah and
Parowan. Had I seen a mileage marker recently that would narrow it down. I told her no, I
hadn't. But we were pulled over right beside a field with some cows if that would help her at
all (it apparently didn't).
LOL! The cows didn't help? What's wrong with those people anyway?
I thought I gave a very accurate description of the scene, but then again apparently "we're beside a
bunch of cows" just wasn't accurate enough by itself for them to be able to find us! Thankfully I
had remembered which town we had just passed.

still too snug to wear comfortably. I'm looking forward to getting back into those.
I'm sort of in between the two sizes as well. One's just a bit big, the other's just a bit small.
DH would prefer if I lost everywhere but my breasts. I'd prefer to lose from there first!
I hear ya, on both counts. It's a RPITA to be sleeping in bed and realize that one of "the girls" is
under something it's not supposed to be and is uncomfortable.

meet some of these men. She's been seeing the same "stable" of guys for several months now. She
says she's not really looking for a serious relationship at the moment, just some companionship.
Which is fine. But I'd still feel better if I at least had a face to put with the names.
I don't know how I'd react to my mom dating if she was single. It would sure be strange. Don't
think I'd be very good with it unfortunately. For her sake though, I'd have to do my best to be
supportive.
My mother has been divorced for over 20 years, so the single part isn't bothersome at all. It's the
dating part that's difficult! I just can't get over the difference in her since she's started losing
weight. She smiles so much more now too.
My aunt, OTOH, is still convinced that my mother is starving herself to death and is losing weight
far too rapidly, and would like her to STOP. This would be the same aunt who signed up for WW just
before Christmas and went to one, possibly 2 meetings and then quit. My mother has been losing at an
average of 1.7 pounds per week. I, on the other hand, have been losing at an average of 0.7 pounds
per week. And there are times when I get a little depressed at the rate of loss, and then I have to
mentally shake myself and say HEY! It's an average LOSS you moron! And remind myself that my mother
is wearing the clothes I used to wear because a) they fit her now and b) they NO LONGER FIT ME. And
that's a good thing!
Although I have decided to keep some of my "fat" clothes aside from the stuff that ends up going to
charity. I came to the realization the other night that I'm getting married, and I'm going to want
to have chidren, and that means having to buy maternity clothes. But I think that the 1X and 2X tops
definitely ought to be able to double as maternity clothes. So some of the nicer ones are going to
be set aside so I don't need to buy as much, when the time comes.

A year ago my mother would never have thought of dating. Now she could go out every weekened if
she wanted to, she's dressing more professionaly for work, she's getting notice more at work in
a professional manner (which is sad, but a fact of life) and she's using her new-found
confidence to actually stand up to her boss a little. Which is a good thing, he's a little
arrogant and has a habit of treating women like they're stupid. She works for the goverment.
She's an IT director. He's a financial person who has no idea about anything having to do with
computers. It's been quite a struggle over the years to be taken seriously (with some people at
least) in her job because it's quite a male-dominated area, and to be an overweight female in it
makes it even worse.
Good for your mom, taking control of her life, dressing nicely, and most of all having self-
confidence. That's a major accomplishment!
And my mother says "thank you very much". She's beaming.
Quoted message said:Quoted message said:I have to keep reminding myself that I'll appreciate doing the exercise when it's over. I *was*
going to do some aerobics this morning, but got to bed after midnight (wedding planning) and I
know myself well enough to know I have no coordination at the best of time, particularly not
when I'm suffering from lack of sleep. So I'll hop on the recumbent bike this afternoon during
People's Court or Ellen. Gosh I love working from home! Except for yesterday, when a new client
dropped by unannounced (I only see clients by appointment) to drop off a payment that I hadn't
even invoiced her for yet and proceded to grill me on how I managed to stay in business. I had
been in the middle of cleaning the basement when she came - I was all sweaty and grimey. Not the
best impression, but she should have called first!
I'm sure your client didn't mine. After all, she didn't give you any notice and I'm sure she
realized you weren't *working* when she showed up.
Unfortunately I don't think she realized anything of the sort. She, in fact, stood in the doorway
questioning how we managed to stay in business. We've been in business for 23 years, most of that
home-based (we did experiment with an office for about a year, but when all your clients phone then
what's the point of paying for an office?!). We have a strong client base and don't usually
advertise, but will put an ad in the paper about every 2 or 3 years. Since she's never seen us
before she has no idea who we are, and for some reason thinks that we can't possibly stay in
business unless we advertise every week. Our satisfied clients are our advertising!
