I have recently been informed by letter writers to my local rag (and TheAge) that I have been erroniously PAYING TAXES for all these years!!!

I was unaware that being a cyclist is all it takes to not have to pay tax. Imagine!!!!!!!!

After all, "All those bikelanes are paid for by 'TAXPAYERS' money " which by a power of deductive reasoning that Holmes would be proud, is not done by me 'cos i ride a bike. So Mr Costello shall be getting a rather large claim for 100k's/million+ of all those taxes I have been paying as I didnt realise i was exempt!!!

You might not have been such a hampy camper if you had to claim on insurance!

For info:

The import duty/GST payment threshold levels have recently been
standardised across post/air cargo/sea cargo.

It is now a "Customs Value" (CV) of $1000. If the CV is less than
$1000, then the duty rate applied is 'free', and it is classified as a
'non-taxable importation' for GST purposes.

(CV = cost of goods + any insurance paid + cost of postage/transport).
So don't forget to consider postage costs when making sure you are
below the threshold amount!!

Cheers all,
Abby (who can't get away from his job....even on a.b)

Hey, didn't Lotte have to pay duty on about $300 of stuff just a few months ago. You might like to ring her to let her know about the new $1000 limit just before she heads for home.

Bwahahahahah.
