For info:
The import duty/GST payment threshold levels have recently been
standardised across post/air cargo/sea cargo.
It is now a "Customs Value" (CV) of $1000. If the CV is less than
$1000, then the duty rate applied is 'free', and it is classified as a
'non-taxable importation' for GST purposes.
(CV = cost of goods + any insurance paid + cost of postage/transport).
So don't forget to consider postage costs when making sure you are
below the threshold amount!!
