Sorry, Team Jerkoff got pressured to not enter him in the Giro. It's also not like he did anything this Spring to show he was worthy of a spot on the team.

What remains to be seen/proved is whether his involvement in OP is above and beyond what he got caught for, or if it is his new and improved doping programme... :o

Well, the guy is a tool for duping all those ignorant fans for paying into his Fairness Fund or whatever the hell he was calling it, but on the doping front, he's probably no worse than anyone else.

Sure, but if the rule says life ban then LB should be imposed. If there will be more than one doping episode for Basso maybe we'll get a LB for Basso as a dessert. I want more food, please...

I think the rules state that the second offense must take place after the first one. You need to get caught, get punished, and then do it again. If it were just two examples of doping, Millar would get a lifetime ban.

Hamilton is getting screwed here, but he has himself to blame.

Hamilton has no respect for the rules of the sport, his fans, his teams, or anyone else. So I really don't care about the details of whether he gets or deserves a lifetime ban. I just hope the sport gives it back to him like he gave the sport. I hope he never ever rides a bike again. What a douche.

Cyclists Tyler Hamilton of the U.S. and Joerg Jaksche of Germany were suspended by their team Wednesday from competing in the Giro d'Italia following pressure to ban riders implicated in the Spanish doping scandal.
Hamilton, the 2004 Olympic road race champion, recently returned to competition after serving a two-year ban for blood doping.

"The management of Tinkoff Credit Systems, as a precaution, has decided to suspend the two riders until the relevant authorities clarify the position of the two riders in connection with Operation Puerto," the Italian-Russian team said in a statement.

The move came three days before the start of the Giro, one of the world's three premier multistage tours. Hamilton and Jaksche were left off the team because of "new circumstances and decisions made public in the last few days," the team said.

"The decision aims to relieve the pressure that has built up over the last few days around the Giro and the team itself, following recent events and the position taken by some other teams," Tinkoff said.

Hamilton's and Jaksche's names turned up on a list of cyclists who allegedly had contact with Spanish doctor Eufemiano Fuentes, who is accused of running a blood-doping clinic in Madrid and is at the center of the Spanish case.

Last year's Giro champion, Ivan Basso, and fellow Italian rider Michele Scarponi withdrew from the race last week. Both have admitted involvement in the Spanish scandal but deny doping. On Tuesday, Basso said he had confessed to "attempted doping" only.

Spanish riders Costantino Zaballa and Ruben Plaza, who have also been linked to Fuentes, were not included in Caisse d'Epargne's team for the Giro, despite appearing on a preliminary list of racers.

Giro president Angelo Zomegnan does not want riders implicated in the case to compete in Italy's top cycling event and has asked the sport's governing body to provide a list of suspects ahead of Saturday's start.

Zomegnan twice wrote to International Cycling Union president Pat McQuaid, asking for the names of riders considered "undesirable by UCI at the Giro, in connection with any list linked to Operation Puerto," Gazzetta dello Sport reported Wednesday.

"The institution has to provide the means ... (of determining) who cannot be considered admissible at the Giro," Zomegnan said.

All riders at the Giro are expected to undergo blood tests Thursday. The 90th edition of the race begins Saturday in Caprera, Sardinia, and finishes in Milan on June 3.

How is it possible that nearly every single implicated rider decides to become a lying scumbag rather than take responsibility? And why do some people, like Tyler and Floyd need to not only spit on their fans by being cheaters and liars, but also need to treat them like chumps by trying to raise money from them? And what makes someone like Basso swear on his mom's grave? Being a liar and a cheater isn't enough. To be a modern pro, you have to revel in it, you have to be proud of it.

Looks like TH is totally screwed now. By the time this one blows over he'll be well and truly out of it. Shows the system does work occasionally, gets the odd doper here and there. Just misses most of them.

I thought of that, but at the same time, he likely gave himself cancer. To me there's a difference between someone who crashes their car and someone who crashes their car under the influence, although they both might suffer spinal cord injuries and both recover, it's hard to have the same level of emotional attachment to the guy who did it to himself.

But, if it makes someone feel better... I'm just a little worried about how they're going to feel when eventually the truth is discovered about the Texan. The magnitude of his lie can't withstand the pursuit of truth.
