  1. If you want to try these out, they are now loaded (thanks to the SMC
    webmaster, Ken) at

    http://www.smc.org.uk/contour_maps2.htm

(Actually there is a button on the homepage that'll take you there).
Anyone coming via the old URL will still get the old maps (for the time
    being).

These have been tested by a couple of folks, but the zip + upload to the
website is brand new and I can't test the result (no broadband, as I may
have mentioned!) - any problems, tell Ken!!

Enjoy.. don't all rush at once, I'm not sure how much data capacity
there is into/out of Scotland these days .. 8>.

Contact recommends the use of Firefox; SC recommends it at gunpoint.

Hmm, either the data is very slow out of Scotland or it doesn't want to
come all the way to France, for me the page just seems to try to load
indefinitely. I do have a slow connection though. I'll try tomorrow in
the daytime, costs me extra in the evenings. How big a page/file is it?
Is it working for everyone else?

Sorry, ignore previous post, wasn't paying enough attention, I don't
have broadband either, guess that's why it won't load....

Now can someone let me know if the =content= is sane? I installed it
into my Mapsource, but that was before it had been zipped and uploaded.
Flipping an area between GB Topo 2 (Garmin/OSGB) and 'free contours'
1.2 and 2.0, and The £120 package looks much nicer. However on a VFM
basis, free version 2.0 still wins. This assumes that the transmission,
zipping, downloading, and unzipping don't do anything horrid to it.

My download works fine (after the fix I mentioned). I've only looked at a
section of the LD and an area near to home in Brighton but it looks good to me.
I've tried it both in Mapsource and my GPSMAP 60CS.

    Cheers,

Seemed to download OK, and installed into my copy of Mapsource.
Not had time to put it to the test on the GPS unit, and unlikely to have
    time for some weeks.
