You have to remember that the powers-that-be are of the opinion that we
are all too stupid to understand isobars (c.f. new BBC forecast format)
so there's no chance we could understand '70% RH'. 'Sticky and

Good call on the Aircon though. Now it's showing up in most mainstream
autos it is only a matter of time before Joe Public says 'why should I
be less comfortable at home than on the M1', and starts buying it. Buy
shares in Aircon companies.....

the BBC seem to be all about style and presentation rather than useful
content.

Plenty of very detailed weather info out there on the web, with the German
GFS and the American NOGAPS being excellent freely available sources, pity
our met office keep all there info hidden from us mere mortals. (even though
we pay for it in our taxes)

NOGAPS do excellent Humidity charts within their forcast system.

Interestingly it was NOGAPS this week that first detailed the large amounts
of cloud cover currently effecting the far NW when the Met Office were
showing clear skies!

Hopefully there should be a lot less cloud early next week, and I can get up
north and knock off a few tops!

I'm dissolving in my own sweat...

Get a weather station. It's 44% in my house and 56% (rising) outside
at the moment. Can't tell you the minimum and maximum because I just
reset temperature and humidity.

Temp 13.3 (falling) Barometer 1026 mb and forecast icon is sunshine.
(Not before dawn, you understand). ;-)

I have a floor covering in my kitchen that starts to aborb moisture
and changes colour when humidity is above 50%. Recently humidity has
been so unusually high that not only did it actually start to feel wet
as well as look wet, but I discovered I have a small hygroscopic rug
which starts becoming slightly damp to the touch at somewhere over 60%
(I walk over it in bare feet every morning, and I don't recall that
happening before in the last several years.

Excellent - just what I need. And it even recognises the existence of
Milton Keynes!

Pity that the TV broadcasts are now so dumbed down - perhaps this is a
realisation that our education system isn't as wonderful as the politicians
expect us to believe.

It would be better if they didn't seem to have the strange idea that
pressure charts covering a sensible area are only of interest to people
near or on the sea.

Well on BBC1 Look North Paultheweatherman gives a warning of high humidity
when it may occur.

Well on BBC1 Look North Paultheweatherman gives a warning of high humidity
when it may occur.

Low humidity is more significant to me, today's minimum was 22%, so I
got my bedding washed, dried and replaced in record time.
