It might not have worked in an era when the ASO didn't have a huge
incentive to [censored] the UCI, but these days, I give them even odds of
showing up at the start line, if only as the surest way for the ASO to
demonstrate who's wearing the pants.

it is possible, though i think the ASO cares a lot about the possible
negative financial impact of those dudes in the race.

an interesting consequence though is that a lot of ex-protour riders
will end up on [censored] little teams and dominate the smaller pro races,
as hondo was already starting to do this fall.

cycling should go all the way and become wrestling. all the banished
protour riders can form a "heel team". testing positve will be the
equivalent of a "heel turn".

And they're riding Colnago and Ullrich seems to do well on classic Italian
brands, even those that you need to buy on a leap year.

Finally, a team that knows there's more to racing than the Tour. As rich
as Tinkoff is, he might not be doing it for the exposure but for the fun
of having all All Doped All Stars team. While passing all UCI controls,
of course.
