On Saturday morning I went for a 3 hour ride. I then spent the rest of the day with carrying the Edge around, still with the HR strap on. Probably not a perfect test, but it was the best I could do. It lasted another 7 hours. So that's 10 hours in total, however I'm not sure how battery consumption changes when not reading fronm the speed/cadense sensor. The other factor was that much of that 7 hours I was in and out of buildings, so it spent a lot of time trying to aquire satellites.

Sounds like the power consumption balanced out b/n the two. In any case, 10 hrs is not bad for a light weight GPS unit. But a user changeable battery would have been nicer given that there's no power source on a bike (vs a car unit). --
