For reasons I won't go into here I find it necessary to wear something under standard shorts. Can any one recommend a decent pair of underpants; they need to be:
not padded cotton preferably the same shape as the shorts, ie with leg bits not baggy like boxers or with an opening preferably affordable enough to have a few pairs
That's the fella thanks; all a bit designer ranges though; perhaps some better b*bsh**ts might be worth a try, they are not much more than a pair of boxer briefs. I know I'm supposed to wear nowt under them, it just does not seem to gel ;-)

Have to be careful how I phrase this - if the problem is the same as mine, lack of control of the dangly bits, have you tried wearing a jock strap ? Make sure it supports, lifts and separates (TM), and you may find an improvement - I did, they no longer call me 'Squeaky'.

well I was trying to keep it fairly above board (although any girls reading this thread having seen the title deserve all they get ;-)
but yes partly; the other problem is that my skin is extremely sensitive and cannot be next to anything synthetic for any length of time, especially a certain area of skin, there; done it now!

Odlo makes very nice and seamless underwear. Though the fabric is synthetic it might be well among the least aggressive ones available. As for natural fibres silk and very high quality cotton might be worth a try. For the latter Zimmerli of Switzerland comes to mind. But I have no experience with these as sports underwear and in general cotton tends to get sticky and nasty when soaked with sweat. For all materials try to get the smallest size still comfortably fitting in order to avoid rubbing and crinkles. I dare not to recommend an expedition to the dark side in this group which nevertheless might solve your problems.
