Update on healing...

I thought you said in another post that your lung function was 100%?
I didn't see your answer to my question before - how much did this surgery
set you back, did insurance cover it etc?
It's ok if you don't want to answer this as it's none of my business really,
just it would be nice to know how much private treatments like this cost
people.

vitamin C capsules every day and anothr C IV
on the 17th, we expect to see significant gains over the next 10 days.

My lung function is 100%. When I get consumed by infection my lungs get
congested. It is clearing as this day passes.

The cost of this procedure is no secret and I discuss it openly with
everyone who asks me. As for dental insurance, it is covered if it is
covered. I have submitted it and will be reimbursed if it is covered. This

This procedure involved the inspection and removal of infection at 5
cavitation sites. It was performed by an oral
surgeon who used oxygen, freezing and laughing gas to ensure my comfort. The
procedure took about an hour and he
found and removed infected bone in all of those locations, and he filed off
some bone bumps that were preventing my
bottom dentures from fitting comfortably. The cost for this was $690.00 CDN.

His patients come from across North America to have this procedure done.

Doesn't really seem _that_ expensive if you have the money to spare.
Did he biopsy the sites to see if they contained pathogenic bacteria?

Cancer is not the only reason to do biopsies. Another reason to do
biopsies is to diagnose infection. This is particularly true of a
longstanding indolent infection of "dead" bone, which is what you
claimed to have. Biopsy and culture of the dead bone of could have
revealed the presence of pathogenic organisms (if there was a real
infection, which from your original description of "cavitations" seems
unlikely--but you never know) and thus guided antibiotic therapy after
surgery.

Why wasn't such a simple test done? If you were going to undergo such
questionable surgery to begin with, don't you wonder why a biopsy and/or
culture wasn't done of the bone?

but it is about infection...thus a culture of the material is standard
practice...

how else would he know WHICH antibiotic is appropriate?? different organisms
need different antibiotics...
