You can ask your ISP to add it for you. Some ISPs even allow you to add newsgroups yourself.

Hi Tim,

I *can* get it on my main ISPs server (Onetel) but I choose to use www.news.cis.dfn.de for my news
as it's more reliable and seems to catch a higher percentage of messages.

It's a free German news service that you can use with any newsreader program. Full english
instructions and registration details are on the site.

ZB's point about contacting your own ISP is worth a go. Many ISPs will only add new groups if they
get requests from their *own* subscribers. (i.e. I can't badger them to do it)

Actually I can get it at home but not at work. When I last checked (at home) I found that virtually
every post had been crossed post here and as I got no replies to specific ones that I did post,
wondered if there was a point in continuing?

I'd agree that there has been a fair bit of cross-posting and given the low traffic that was kind of
inevitable. It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation, nobody posts because there's no messages,
there aren't any messages because nobody posts. Maybe the e-world doesn't need a uk.rec.running. I
only created it because *I* (and those who voted for it) thought that a UK group might be
worthwhile. I'm kind of close to giving up on it but I'm not quite ready to abandon it just yet.

I live in hope.

The Tims are correct. Low traffic and no replies to posts isn't exactly a recipe for success. Hell,
even my probing trolls haven't brought the uk.r.r out of the woodwork. It's doomed. We should think
